Publication Ethics
Standards for responsible editorial and publication practice.
Purpose
EJSIR applies publication-ethics principles to authors, reviewers, editors and journal staff. Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly merit, scope, integrity and the evidence available, without inappropriate influence from commercial, personal or institutional interests.
Editorial independence
Editors are responsible for independent editorial judgment. Business, sponsorship, advertising, fee arrangements or external relationships must not determine acceptance decisions.
Misconduct
Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, paper-mill activity, undisclosed authorship manipulation and inappropriate image or data manipulation are not acceptable. Suspected cases may be investigated and may result in rejection, correction, retraction or other action appropriate to the evidence.
Record keeping and fairness
Concerns should be handled consistently, confidentially and proportionately. Relevant parties should normally have an opportunity to respond, and material post-publication changes should be documented transparently.
