EJSIR Journal of Medicine and Clinical Science
Covers clinical and translational medicine, diagnostics, therapeutics and patient-centred research. Submissions should state the clinical question, study design and population, report applicable ethics and registration information, and calibrate conclusions to the evidence.
Journal aim and scope
The journal aims to publish research that advances medical and biomedical knowledge and improves the assessment of health questions. It welcomes clinical, translational and methodologically sound evidence across the journal’s named sections, with attention to patient relevance, ethical conduct and transparent reporting. The central contribution should fit at least one of the journal’s academic sections and be meaningful to readers in medicine and clinical science.
Suitable approaches include clinical and observational studies, diagnostic or prognostic validation, laboratory research, evidence synthesis, epidemiology and translational analysis. Authors should report protocols, eligibility criteria, outcomes, analytical methods, approvals and limitations; intervention studies should include registration where applicable. Authors should define the research question, connect the approach to the question, describe sources or materials and analytical choices, and provide enough information for critical assessment. Interdisciplinary work is welcome when its relevance to the journal is clear and the methods used for each component are explained.
Interpretations and claims should follow from the reported evidence. Authors should identify uncertainty, limitations and alternative explanations where relevant, and distinguish demonstrated results from implications or future work. Studies involving people, animals, sensitive data or protected material should describe applicable ethics, consent, privacy and permissions.
Clinical recommendations beyond the study design, diagnostic or therapeutic claims without appropriate validation, and research involving people or animals without applicable ethics documentation fall outside scope. Manuscripts outside the listed sections or lacking an assessable scholarly contribution may be declined at editorial screening.
