EJSIR Journal of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
Covers mechanical design, manufacturing processes, materials processing, thermal and fluid systems, and industrial engineering. The journal values technically grounded contributions with reproducible methods and evaluation suited to the scale and application of the engineering problem.
Journal aim and scope
The journal aims to publish engineering research that advances understanding, design methods, technologies or validated systems in its subject areas. Both foundational and applied work are considered when the engineering contribution is explicit and results are assessed with methods suited to the research question. The central contribution should fit at least one of the journal’s academic sections and be meaningful to readers in mechanical and manufacturing engineering.
Suitable work may use analytical design, simulation, laboratory or field experiments, prototype development, measurement, manufacturing studies or systems evaluation. Authors should report the materials, equipment, boundary conditions, calibration and comparison methods needed to assess the results, and discuss uncertainty and limitations. Authors should define the research question, connect the approach to the question, describe sources or materials and analytical choices, and provide enough information for critical assessment. Interdisciplinary work is welcome when its relevance to the journal is clear and the methods used for each component are explained.
Interpretations and claims should follow from the reported evidence. Authors should identify uncertainty, limitations and alternative explanations where relevant, and distinguish demonstrated results from implications or future work. Studies involving people, animals, sensitive data or protected material should describe applicable ethics, consent, privacy and permissions.
Concept proposals without technical analysis, device or process claims without suitable testing, and case descriptions that do not establish a transferable engineering contribution fall outside scope. Manuscripts outside the listed sections or lacking an assessable scholarly contribution may be declined at editorial screening. Article type does not by itself determine suitability. The manuscript must fit the journal’s subject scope and meet the relevant standards for evidence, reporting, ethics and transparency.
